About Censal Research
An independent research studio that turns public US data into studies people can trust and quote.
What we do
Censal builds original research from official US statistics: the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Federal Reserve and other public sources. We publish some studies under our own name, free to read and cite. Most of our work is commissioned by SEO and digital PR agencies and published by their clients.
Our studies are written for two audiences at once: journalists, who need a clear finding and a method they can check, and AI answer engines, which need plain, specific statements with a source.
Our standards
- Public data only. Anyone can check our inputs. We do not use private, customer or confidential data.
- The data decides the finding. Clients choose the topic. They do not choose the result. If the data does not support an angle, we say so.
- Uncertainty is reported, not hidden. Survey margins of error are carried through every comparison, and we correct for testing many places at once.
- Checked twice. Every headline number is recomputed by a second, independently written program before publication.
- Methods are published. Each study has a methodology page with sources, definitions, tests and exclusion rules.
- Corrections are public. Errors reported to us are assessed within five working days and corrected in place with a dated note.
Who we are
Censal's research is led by an economist with a postgraduate degree and years of experience in survey design, sampling and statistical evaluation. We keep the studio's name on the work rather than our own. Agencies that commission a study know exactly who leads it.
